“Climate Change Does Not Cause People To Massacre Whole Christian Villages” – ADF International

The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) International has expressed disappointment at the decision of the European Parliament to reference climate change as the primary causal factor while condemning the Christmas Eve attacks in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria.

The ADF said the resolution “downplays” the causes of the attack on Christian locals in the affected area.

Legal Officer for ADF International, Dr. Georgia Du Plessis, said the Parliament’s adoption elevates irrelevant issues as the cause of the massacre while relegating the root cause.

“While we applaud the European Parliament’s recognition of the horrific Christmas massacre targeting Christians, we are disappointed that the resolution downplays the religious causes of the violence while highlighting issues such as climate change. Climate change does not cause people to massacre whole Christian villages,” she declared after the adoption yesterday.

Over 20 communities in Bokkos LGA came under attack by Fulani terrorists on Christmas Eve and at least 200 Christians were killed. More than 300 suffered injuries or lost their homes and about 15,000 people are currently displaced.
