NAFDAC Seizes N50 Million Worth of Illicit Drugs in Apapa, Lagos

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) said it has recently cracked down on drug sellers in Apapa and its surroundings in Lagos State as part of its efforts to combat the distribution and vending of illicit drugs.

This was disclosed in a statement shared on the agency’s X account on Friday.

According to the agency, numerous hawkers were apprehended during the operation, and a wide range of illicit drugs were confiscated, including aphrodisiacs, narcotic substances (including tramadol), antibiotics, and over-the-counter medications.

It said that the confiscated drugs, estimated to be worth around N50 million at street value will be destroyed, and legal action will be taken against the arrested individuals.
