A 13-year-old girl has been charged with three counts of attempted murder after two teachers and a pupil were stabbed at a school in Wales.

The three individuals received treatment for stab wounds at a hospital and have since been discharged.

In response to the incident, the school’s headteacher expressed sympathy for those affected and praised staff and pupils’ calm and mature response during the lockdown. He commended their support for one another and emphasised the school’s core values.

Meanwhile, a 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of making threats related to the school attack. The police swiftly responded to concerns raised about messages on social media and arrested the individual responsible. He remains in custody while the investigation continues.

The incident occurred at Amman Valley School, also known as Ysgol Dyffryn Aman, prompting a lockdown just after 11:20 am on Wednesday in Carmarthenshire.
