Gombe: Police Arrest 3 For Mixing Okra Powder With Wood Dust

Gombe State Police have arrested three people for allegedly mixing dried okra powder with wood dust and selling it to the public.
The Gombe command Public Relations Officer, ASP Buhari Abdullahi, shared this information during a briefing on Tuesday after showing the suspects to journalists.
Abdullahi said a resident reported the suspects’ activities to the police on July 9 around 5:00 p.m.
The report stated that the suspects, from Dadin Kowa and Dumbu villages in Yamaltu-Deba Local Government Area, were caught mixing dried okra with wood dust to sell to unsuspecting buyers.
Upon receiving this information, police detectives from Dadin Kowa Area Command arrested the suspects.
The adulterated okra powder has been sent to the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) for testing.
“During interrogation, the said suspects confessed to their crime and will soon be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation,” Abdullahi said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) also reported that the police showed other suspects arrested for alleged fertiliser adulteration, homosexuality, and vandalism of electric wires.
