The Gambia Withdraws Visa-Free Entry for Taiwanese

Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that The Gambia has withdrawn its visa-free entry policy for Taiwanese nationals.
Taiwan accused China of pressuring countries to adopt the one-China policy. This policy maintains that only one sovereign state is under China, and Taiwan is an inalienable part of China.
The Taiwanese National Audit Office reported that the number of countries offering preferential visas to Taiwanese citizens has dropped from 171 to 166.
Since April, Taiwanese passport holders have lost visa-free entry to Nauru, Gambia, Kiribati, Colombia, and Botswana.
