Governor Peter Mbah’s Petrol Station Set on Fire by Arsonists, No Casualties Reported

A fire broke out at a Pinnacle Oil filling station, owned by Enugu State’s Governor Peter Mbah, on Friday morning. The station, located on Agbani Road in Enugu, was reportedly set ablaze by unidentified attackers who arrived in a Toyota Corolla.
Confirming the incident, Enugu State Police Commissioner, Kanayo Uzuegbu, said no lives were lost in the incident. He added that the fire was brought under control by personnel from the federal and state fire services, who responded to the emergency. He however stated that three vehicles waiting in line to purchase fuel were damaged in the blaze.
“No life was lost. However, three vehicles on the queue to purchase fuel were torched, while normalcy has since been restored by the police,” Uzuegbu reported.
He said preliminary investigation suggests that the fire may have been caused by fuel leakage from one of the vehicles buying fuel at the station.
Uzuegbu has instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to conduct a full investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
