Misplaced Priority: APC Youth Leader to Host the Super Eagles, Despite Party's Failing Policies
Dayo Israel, National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress

The National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dayo Israel, has organised a public party for the Super Eagles in the upcoming semi-final match against South Africa in the ongoing 2024 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Cote d’Ivoire.

To celebrate the upcoming match, Israel, with taxpayers’ money, procured a live cow and emblem it with a national flag colour. According to him, the party aims to bring about party youths and non-members based in Abuja to support the Nigerian team.

In a post on his X account on Tuesday, Israel announced the party would be held at the APC national secretariat in Abuja from 4 p.m. on Wednesday ahead of the game, which kicks off at 6 p.m.

He wrote, “Join us at the special #AFCON2024 Semi-Final Match Watch Party organised by APCNG Youthwing.

“On weds 7th February. Everyone is invited and it’s free entry/open to all Nigerians, especially the Youth. Let’s support our team irrespective of our party or political divide. Red Carpet is at 4 pm, and the live Match is at 6 pm at APC National Secretariat, Wuse, Abuja—lots of Drinks, asun and suya for everyone. God bless our Super Eagles. Meanwhile, as an APC member, he had sold the idea of ‘Renewed Hope’ to Nigerians during the last general elections, a hope dashed to insecurity, inflation, and failed promises.
