NAFDAC Seals Adulterated Chemical and Water Firms in Nasarawa

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has shut down two unapproved chemical and water companies in Nasarawa, one in Lafia and another in Obi Local Government Area.
According to Matthew Adeoye, the NAFDAC State Coordinator, on Tuesday, these companies produced falsified and adulterated agrochemicals in unhygienic conditions without proper registration.
Acting on intelligence reports, NAFDAC’s Regulatory Officers raided the facilities during routine surveillance.
Adeoye said such illegal activities not only violate NAFDAC regulations but also have detrimental effects on farm produce, livestock, and human health.
According to Adeoye, the sealed facilities will remain closed, their production equipment confiscated, and perpetrators handed over to the police for investigation.
He urged the public to report similar illegal activities and advised manufacturers to comply with NAFDAC regulations to avoid legal actions or closure.
