Police Arrest Uzodinma's Ex-aide for Alleged Fraud

The Imo State Police command has arrested Chinasa Nwaneri, a one-time Special Adviser on Special Duties to the governor of the state, Hope Uzodimma, for suspected forgery.

The command’s spokesperson, Henry Okoye, who confirmed the arrest during the weekend, stated that Nwaneri was apprehended over suspected fraudulent activities.

An investigation is ongoing, and we will communicate further as it unfolds, Okoye stated.

The arrest is allegedly related to a case at the state police command in 2023 concerning the immediate past Commissioner for Land, Nobel Atulegwu, and the Commissioner for Housing, Love Inn.

Nwaneri was arrested on Saturday at his hotel room in Rockview, Owerri. He was accused, along with three others, of malicious damage, fraudulent activities, obtaining money under false pretence and illegal use of government power/authority to harass, intimidate and frustrate the citizens of Imo State.
