A protester was allegedly shot by a police officer Friday in Ughelli, Delta State, during the ongoing nationwide protests against bad governance.

In one of the videos posted by an X user, @ChuksEricE, the man who was allegedly shot was seen seated on a bike with blood stains visible on the right side of his polo. In the video, the wounded man struggled to sit upright before resting his head on the back of the bike man.

According to a member of the crowd who was heard in the second video, the victim – reportedly “shot in the arm” – was taken to the hospital by the Nigerian Army.

Since the #EndBadGovernance protest began on August 1, more than a dozen protesters have been killed by security forces all over the country, with hundreds of protesters arrested.
