Amid growing discontent over economic hardships and extravagant displays of wealth, Seyi Tinubu, son of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, took to social media to implore Nigerians to maintain faith in his father’s government.

This appeal came weeks after the First Lady, Mrs Remi Tinubu, appealed to Nigerians to be patient with her husband’s administration.

Seyi’s appeal comes after his past flaunting of luxurious possessions and a recent surge in public scrutiny of the Tinubu family’s lifestyle.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Seyi Tinubu shared sentiments attributed to his father, acknowledging the challenges faced by Nigerians and expressing a desire for a brighter future.

However, his call for support using hashtags such as #HaveFaithinHim and #NigeriaisinGreatHands received mixed reactions from his followers, with some questioning the practicality of faith in light of pressing economic realities.

This plea for patience and support echoes a unanimous family sentiment the Tinubu’s have.

Recall a statement released by the First Lady’s spokesperson, Mrs Tinubu, urged Nigerians to remain patient and optimistic about the Tinubu administration’s efforts to alleviate the effects of recent policy changes, such as the removal of fuel subsidies.

Mrs Tinubu’s reassurances were made during a meeting with a delegation led by the wives of service chiefs and the Inspector General of Police.

She emphasised the administration’s commitment to mitigating the impact of economic reforms while encouraging citizens to focus on the long-term benefits for the nation.
