Sofyan Amrabat Set for likely Departure as Ten Hag looks to focus on Mainoo

Manchester United’s on-loan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat seems likely to depart from the club at the end of the season, sources close to the team have revealed to SkySports.

Despite an impressive stint in Italy and a promising World Cup with Morocco, the 27-year-old has struggled to adapt to the pace of the Premier League.

Erik ten Hag, the Manchester United boss, has reportedly decided not to pursue a permanent transfer for Amrabat.

Sources at Old Trafford have cited concerns about his inability to adjust to the English game during his 17 appearances across all competitions.

“Amrabat is very unlikely to stay at Manchester United after the summer,” a club insider mentioned to SkySports.

“The manager isn’t currently planning to make his loan move permanent. His performance in Italy was commendable, but the difference in pace has been a challenge since he joined United.”

However, amidst Amrabat’s potential departure, the spotlight has turned towards 18-year-old talent Kobbie Mainoo.

Despite limited appearances due to injury, Mainoo’s recent showing earned praise from Ten Hag, who hinted at a possible prominent role for the youngster in the upcoming season.

“Kobbie is the future,” the source added. “

Ten Hag has identified his potential and fast-tracked him into the side. Mainoo’s rise has been unexpected but remarkable, and he could well secure a starting position when the new season kicks off.”

As United’s focus shifts towards nurturing young talent like Mainoo, Amrabat’s future in England appears uncertain, with potential interest from European clubs awaiting his departure.
