Terrorists in Katsina State have killed Salisu Ango, the liaison officer to Governor Umar Dikko Radda in Kankia Local Government Area, along with his first wife. His second wife was abducted during the attack.

The terrorists killed one person, injured another, and kidnapped 28 people in another incident in the Shirgi Community of Batsari Local Government Area. They also stole several domestic animals. A resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said the attackers raided the village at night, targeting specific homes and mainly kidnapping women and children. Although some captives managed to escape, 28 people were still missing.

In a separate attack earlier, the terrorists raided Gyaza village, where they killed Salisu Ango and his first wife and abducted his second wife. The attack happened on Friday night around 10:00 p.m. Some residents claimed the bandits targeted Ango because he had married the ex-wife of one of their members, despite warnings.

The terrorists also attacked Tashar Gamji in Kankia LGA on Saturday night, stealing animals and other valuables from homes. Earlier in the week, another attack in Marabar Kankara village left three people dead and five injured.

The police in Katsina have confirmed the attacks in Kankia and are investigating the incident in Batsari.
