Third Mainland Bridge Now Fully Accessible to the Public!

The Third Mainland Bridge, which was formerly shut down for maintenance work, has been reopened by the Federal Government.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, announced the reopening of sections of the Third Mainland Bridge on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 6 pm. In a statement, he expressed gratitude for Nigerians’ patience during the closure and emphasized the government’s understanding of the inconvenience caused.

“Following essential maintenance, the entire bridge is now fully accessible to the public, ensuring smoother connectivity and safe commuting,” said Osiyemi, affirming the government’s dedication to infrastructure upkeep and public safety.

The closure, initiated by the Federal Ministry of Works over a month ago, targeted repair work on the ramps connecting Oworoshoki to Adekunle and Lagos Island to Adekunle simultaneously. Motorists were advised to follow diversions and utilize alternative routes during the maintenance period.

The commissioner’s declaration could pass as a step toward restoring full functionality to this vital transportation pathway, allowing for smoother travel and demonstrating the government’s commitment to the region’s essential infrastructure.
